Why This Workshop?

Traditional couples retreats often fail to address the unique challenges men face in relationships. With dropout rates as high as 50% and years of delay before couples seek support, the odds are stacked against success. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Instead, at the Center for Men’s Excellence, we’re turning the tide with a revolutionary approach tailored specifically to men and their partners. Led by Drs. Maxwell Maris and Daniel Singley, this two-day couples retreat offers a proven, no-nonsense path to stronger, healthier, and happier relationships.

Note: Our next session dates for this retreat are pending. Please Contact Us to let us know your interest and we will reach out to let you know when the next session is scheduled!

What Makes This Couples Workshop Different?

This couples retreat will not involve rehashing old arguments or baring your soul in front of strangers. Importantly, you’ll focus on real, research-backed tools you can use right away:

Learn well-researched "relationship hygiene" techniques to keep your relationship healthy, strong, and thriving

Master assertive (not aggressive) communication techniques that build connection

Navigate conflict productively without aggression or avoidance

✅ Learn practical evidence-based CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) strategies to manage emotions and reduce stress

Put principles into action with private coaching and partner exercises

Up to ten couples participate in a two-day retreat workshop in a beautiful home.

DAY ONE: The first day is a “boot camp” just for the men, drawing on cutting-edge psychological and couples work drawing from the Gottman Method, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Participants will learn clear, concrete tools to better address when their own emotions flare up, to better communicate around difficult/uncomfortable topics, and learn to keep themselves, their partners, and themselves healthier in order to thrive, not just survive from day-to-day.

DAY TWO: On the second day, partners of any gender are invited to attend in order to put the principles and tools into action by taking part in brief didactic exercises blended with privately-coached practice sessions applying the techniques discussed.

By taking part, you and your partner will come away with a set of tools and instructions to help men step up and show up in your relationship so you can both feel closer, more supported, and happier in your lives together in an ongoing way.
