Eligible candidates are invited to apply for a part-time (20-30 hours/week) post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Men’s Excellence, a thriving outpatient group psychotherapy practice located in San Diego, California. The focus of this position is to provide advanced clinical training at the intersection of the psychology of men and masculinities and the application of evidence-based practices including but not limited to CBT, ACT, and behavioral exposure. Compensation is competitive and based on an hourly rate.
Required:
- PsyD or PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
- Eligible to register as a Psychological Associate in California
Responsibilities: The post-doctoral fellow will provide individual, couples, and group psychotherapy with adults under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Singley. The post-doc will be responsible for maintaining all necessary forms, documentation, and paperwork related to licensure along with appropriate and timely documentation of clinical activities for a caseload of 20-25 sessions per week. The post-doc will receive individual supervision and will have the opportunity to gain focused training in men’s issues and reproductive mental health with a focus on early fatherhood along with ongoing experience with the business fundamentals of managing a private practice. Supervision utilizes a therapeutic model in an effort to both support and challenge the post-doc to attend to both their patients and their own process. Strong attention is paid to navigating ethical and legal matters and sharpening their sense of how to develop as a professional and to maintain a fulfilling career. There is also the possibility to gain optional experience in research, facilitating workshops, and developing training materials. The position does not include health benefits.
